Second launch nears completion

A couple of months ago I was offered a derelict WinTech coach's launch from Bishop Ireton Catholic High School in the D.C. area. I've spent a good amount of time over the break repairing the hull/deck joint,

building a new steering console, making seat lids,

installing a new transom and stern sponson.

A working party over the MLK weekend helped to flip the boat (thanks, guys!). I struck a tentative water line and coated the hulls with an epoxy barrier coat. The work was covered up just in time for Sunday's rain/snow. Oh well! I guess I'll have to wait for warmer weather to paint the antifouling.

Stay tuned....still to come --- an electric start 9.9 engine. Hopefully we'll have this boat available for the spring practices!
